*** Fish -- Brother 52 (CD Singles 1 & 2)

Proof positive that too much of a good thing sometimes isn't always good. I got these two singles tossed in with another order, largely because Fish's latest, "Sunsets on Empire" is phenomenal and "Brother 52" stands out as one of the best tracks. But here we go with: 2 copies of the single edit (which makes sense), 1 copy of the album version, 1 state side edit, 1 8.5 minute "Stateside Mix", a "4AM Dub mix", and an unreleased SoE track, "Do Not Walk Outside This Area". Don't get me wrong, I still like the original song, but this is a bit of an overkill. The dance versions (the "state side edit" and "mixes") are pretty funky, and pretty unnecessary, at least from my point of view. The unreleased track is nice, but not a real gem, like some of Fish's B-Sides have been (see "Faith Healer" and "Poet's Moon"). I suppose that he used up all the good ones for the album, which I still think is the best release of his career (including Marillion).
